Social Security credits are the units of measurement used by the Social Security Administration to determine whether an individual qualifies for Social Security benefits, such as retirement, disability, or survivor benefits

Eligibility Note: Most Social Security benefits require a minimum of 40 credits (10 years of work) to qualify for retirement benefits.
