GotTrouble.org Privacy Policy

December 4, 2022

Our Privacy Policy describes how your personal information may be collected, used, and shared when you visit GotTrouble.org (GT). You agree to the collection and use of information under this Privacy policy by having access to GT.

Collection of Personal Information

When you visit GT, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including, but not limited to, information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies installed on your device.

Additionally, as you browse the site, we collect information about the individual web pages or services you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the site, and how you interact with the site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Visitor Device Information.”

How Personal Information is Collected

We collect Visitor Device Information using the following technologies:

“Cookies” are data files placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier.

“Log files” track actions occurring on the site, and collect data, including your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

“Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the site.

Additionally, when you utilize a form or attempt to utilize a form through GT, we collect certain information from you, including, but not limited to, your name, website URL, email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Form Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we talk about both Visitor Device Information and Form Information.

Opt-Out Cookies & Tracking Data

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Please note that this “opt-out” option function is browser-specific and relies on an “opt-out cookie” that would require validation after a browser change or update. However, if you do not accept cookies, some portions and services from the site may not display properly.

You may opt-out of the automated collection of information by third-party ad networks like Google and Facebook. Edit the ads network preferences at Ad Settings Google and Facebook Ads Preferences.

Because those preferences controls are specific to your user’s account on those sites, GT cannot perform the opt-outs on your behalf.

Personal Information Usage

We use the Form information we collect to contact people who have willingly reached out to GT through our forms.

Additionally, we use Form Information to:

  • Notify you about news, updates, services, and promotions we think you may be interested in,
  • Optimize and maintain GT,
  • Identify your preferences on GT
  • Assess the success of our digital marketing campaigns,
  • Provide customer care and support,
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues related to GT.

Data Transfer

The Personal Information that you disclose directly with GT using the site may be transferred to other computers located outside of your state, province, or country, where you will not be able to seek redress under your local data protection laws and that do not have an equivalent level of data protection as in your jurisdiction.

Privacy Policy Updates

At our sole discretion, we may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.

Third-Party Privacy Services

Third-party services that advertise on our site, including google advertisers and marketing affiliates, are neither owned nor operated by GT. These services are independent third-party companies that may or may not have their own privacy policy.

Should you choose to disclose personally identifiable and/or sensitive information to a third-party service, such as but not limited to a lawyer, mental health professional, or financial services referral service, be advised that your personal information may be collected and used by such services. You do so at your own risk if you access third-party services from the GT site. We urge you to perform your own due diligence and carefully review their privacy policy to understand how those entities collect, use, and share your information and do so before divulging sensitive information or using their services.

GT is not responsible for the privacy statements, privacy practices, or content on third-party websites or services outside of those we own and operate.
