A storage lien is a legal claim that a storage facility places on the contents of a storage unit if the renter fails to pay their storage fees, and which results in the renter being locked out of their unit until the lien is fully paid

Special Note – Auction of Storage Unit’s Content

If the tenant does not pay the lien amount within the specified legal time frame, and in accordance with your state storage lien laws, the storage facility may auction off the unit’s contents.
