Pre-programmed prison tablets provide restricted e-mail services to prison inmates

Some prison systems provide preprogrammed computer tablets. While these tablets do not have open internet access for prisoners, they can receive email on the device from a preselected group of people that have registered for the account, usually family members.

The tablets also provide access to a library of pre-approved educational books and materials. Access to these and other features depends on what the prison system authorizes.
