Moving between states

The federal government regulates moves that cross state lines. In addition to interstate movers having to comply with federal guidelines, they must publish their price list and terms for the services they offer interstate movers.

Licensed interstate moving companies are also required to participate in a Dispute Settlement Program sponsored by the American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA).

Remember, as a moving interstate consumer, you are entitled to receive a written copy of your rights and obligations.
