Informs your medical provider under what specific conditions you wish to be kept alive should you become incapacitated and unable to make such decisions
The purpose of a “Health Care Directive” (also called a living will) is to provide your medical providers with precise end-of-life instructions. For example, whether or not you wish to be medically resuscitated if you have been rendered in a vegetative state.
The directive will specify the conditions under which a “DO NOT RESUSCITATE” (DNR) order should be followed.
