U.S. Constitution contains the supreme and guiding legal principles of our republic and its system of justice

The U.S. Constitution was initially adopted in the convention of September 17, 1787. It was subsequently ratified by the states and amended 27 times. It is the foundation upon which our nation’s legal system is based and guides our courts in shaping their judicial decisions.
