Benjamin Poirrier is a French digital expert working in Vietnam since 2007. He is the Founder and CEO of Prodima Vietnam, a full-service digital marketing agency.
Fluent in French, English, and Vietnamese, he lives in Ho Chi Minh City with his wife and two children.
Benjamin was born into a family in huge debt. He has struggled to survive since he was young. This first-hand experience has informed his knowledge of financial hardship and frugality.
At 14, he started working in fields to earn money. At 17, he went to factories to finance his education. Despite being poor all his life, Benjamin owes no one money. He has never taken a single loan or borrowed any dollars. His pride and strong will to succeed made him live with the bare minimum.
Fortunately, he was a brilliant student, as he couldn’t afford to be lazy. After he completed his Master’s Degree in Economics and Marketing, he traveled to Vietnam. He wanted to contribute to the country’s development, as he had never wished to work for the rich. “Money goes to money” and he decided to break this vicious circle.
It took him a few months to learn the Vietnamese language from the locals, without taking any course. This cultural immersion opened several doors for him. As Benjamin had no money, no network, and no support from anyone, he took his future with his bare hands to succeed.
Benjamin first contributed to NGO programs. Then, he started his career as a digital project manager. By working with the locals, he learned a lot from those first 10 years.
In 2017, he became the General Manager of his first digital marketing agency. Three years later, he launched his own company: Prodima Vietnam, a full-service SEO and ADS service provider. As a solo entrepreneur, he financed his business with his savings. It took him five years to become profitable.
Benjamin’s mindset is extremely cartesian and results-driven. To him, actions are worth more than words, and he is not the kind of guy joining gala dinners to take pictures. He prefers spending his valuable time working on something useful.
In a country where corruption remains high, Benjamin has always followed ethical processes. He wants to inspire the community to move ahead and focus on efficiency instead.
Customer care is crucial to him. “Client is King.” Digital marketing agencies must listen to the market issues to address them. Benjamin follows “market pull” rather than “market push” strategies. It all comes from the demand, and the supply should only follow.
