Delinquent child and spousal support payments resulting in a wage and earnings withholding order
A divorce court usually performs a legal process wherein one spouse is ordered to pay a specific amount of child and spousal support to the other but fails to comply with the court’s order.
This form of non-compliance can be considered contempt of court and will result in the court ordering the employer to withhold the former spouse’s wages and earnings and send them directly to the other spouse.
Spousal and child support orders are not dischargeable in bankruptcy.
