Legal title is the legal recognition of ownership of real or personal property

Ownership of property as shown by the name on an appropriate document. The property may be held by either spouse, by both spouses or by a spouse and another individual.

Titled property can be real estate (land or residence) or personal property such as a motor vehicle in the form of a pink slip.

Titles to financial instruments such as stock certificates and digital currency have a form of digital title in their blockchain code.
