The stipulation is a verbal or written agreement usually between opposing lawyers at a present or future official judicial proceeding
In law, a stipulation is usually a written document evidencing a conditional agreement between opposing parties. There are many types of stipulations. Stipulations between counsel and they are highly favored by the courts.
Once a stipulation is agreed to by counsel it is presented to the judge who will almost always agree to the stipulation and make it the order of the court.
For example, opposing lawyers agree on a mutual stipulation as to the authenticity of certain records to be submitted into evidence at trial.
