Medical malpractice occurs when a doctor’s carelessness results in harm to a patient

Negligence is a form of carelessness committed by a professional healthcare provider resulting in injury to the patient.

In legal terms, the actions or omissions of the health care provider fell beneath the accepted “standard of care” within that medical provider’s professional community and within the health provider’s specific specialty.

This can include healthcare providers such as hospitals, doctors, dentists, chiropractors, physical therapists, and nurses.
