A grave is a funeral term used to describe the location where a body is buried
A grave refers to a hole dug in the ground large enough to bury human remains inside.
A headstone usually sits atop a grave, which indicates who is buried within. A headstone is a slab of rock engraved with a person’s basic details, such as their name, date of birth and death, and sometimes a brief quote that describes them well.
A standard grave is made with a traditional burial in mind. This type of grave needs to be at least 2.5 feet wide and 8 feet long to fit both a coffin/casket and a grave liner/vault. Contrary to the popular euphemism that refers to the dead as being “six feet under,” a standard grave is only four feet deep.
