Job discrimination based on gender is strictly prohibited

Federal law forbids discrimination in any aspect of employment, including hiring, firing, pay, job assignments, promotions, layoff, training, fringe benefits, and any other term or condition of employment.

Sex discrimination involves treating an employee or applicant unfavorably because of the person’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or pregnancy.

Job discrimination against an employee or applicant’s gender identity, including transgender status, or because of their sexual orientation violates Title VII and is actionable under both state and federal civil laws.
