Forcible entry of a dwelling or structure with the intent to commit a felony is considered a burglary
The unlawful taking of possession of a house or structure by using force or threat of force. Under most state jurisdictions, breaking and entry have traditionally been an element under the crime of burglary.
Today, the crime must include intending to commit a felony or larceny. Also, the term “structure” is now construed broadly by the law and can include, but is not limited to, garages, trailer homes, and hotel rooms.
