Robert Thomas is a Ph.D. candidate at Northwestern University, where his doctoral research focuses on mass incarceration, restorative justice and prison reform. His expertise includes critical legal studies and the political history of the United States prison system.
As a graduate legal fellow at Northwestern, Robert has worked on numerous criminal justice initiatives throughout the Chicago legal community. Robert also worked as a qualitative researcher and criminal court support specialist at local jails where he evaluated and guided those arrested and jailed through the county bail and conditional release process.
Robert’s expertise also includes critical race theory, critical legal studies, and legal anthropology. He currently lives abroad and supports scholars throughout Asia in preparing research proposals and graduate projects.
