I have been practicing dance as a way of healing for many years, and I bring this intention into both my personal practice and choreographic work. I’ve also completed university courses in Somatic Movement Practices, including Bartenieff Fundamentals, Pilates, and Mindfulness, eight Levels of Modern Dance, Kinesiology, Dance Pedagogy, and studying physical sciences and psychology.
As a dance artist and choreographer, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Modern Dance in the United States. My dance education included Modern Dance techniques, street dance styles, and other somatic practices.
Before studying dance at the university level, Dieu-Thao had a movement background of four years in Aikido, three years in jazz, and three years in contemporary dance.
Her artistic journey was marked by opportunities to perform in the works of Rennie Harris Puremovement Company, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, Michael Sakamoto, Brendan Fernandes, Melissa Templeton, and Jenna Reigel, among others.
