In family law, visitation refers to the legal right granted to a non-custodial parent (or sometimes other relatives, such as grandparents) to spend time with a child following a divorce, separation, or other custody arrangement

Note:

Visitation ensures that the child maintains a meaningful relationship with both parents or other significant individuals, even if one parent is awarded primary physical custody.
